Your Privacy, in Plain Language
Parents and students have a right to know what Qalinkoob collects about them and why. Here it is, explained simply — not as a legal document.
What we collect
Phone number
We use your phone number to log you into your account with a one-time verification code (OTP) — it's the only way we confirm it's really you, not a shared password.
Grade
We use your grade to show you lessons and exams matched to your level of study — nothing else.
School
If you tell us your school, we use it to apply school discounts (if your school is enrolled in our program) and to show aggregate, school-wide statistics — we don't look at any individual student's detail when reviewing a school's numbers.
Quiz activity
Your results and progress are used to show you where you stand, recommend lessons worth revisiting, and — if you choose to take part — place you on the leaderboard.
Questions you ask the AI tutor
The text you type to the tutor is sent to our server and on to the company that runs the AI model. There is a section below explaining exactly what that involves.
The AI tutor
Qalinkoob has an AI tutor you can ask study questions. It does not run on our own computers, so when you send it a question, that question travels to another company — OpenRouter — which runs the AI model that writes the answer. This is the one place where something you typed leaves Qalinkoob, so it is worth being precise about it.
What is sent
The words of your question, and the standing instructions we give the tutor about how to teach. That is the whole message. Your name, your phone number, your grade, your school and your account number are not part of it — the AI provider is never told who is asking.
What it is used for
Only to write the answer that comes back to you, in that moment. It is not used to build a profile of you, to advertise to you, or to work out who you are.
What we keep
We do not keep a copy of your question or of the tutor's answer on our servers. We record only that a question was asked and how long it was, so we can apply the hourly limit on tutor questions and keep track of what the service costs us.
How we protect it
Sensitive data — like your phone number — is stored encrypted. We never sell your data, and we never share it with other companies for advertising or for their own purposes. The one company that receives anything you typed is the AI provider described above, and only so that your tutor question can be answered.
Who can see it
Teachers and administrators at your school can see aggregate, anonymous statistics (like a class average) — they cannot see your individual answers or personal data.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. qalinkoob.com/delete-account sets out the steps, exactly what is erased, what is kept without your name attached, and how a parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's account.
